Peptide SDS vs COA: Which Document Answers Your Question?

A safety data sheet and a certificate of analysis are complementary documents. An SDS communicates chemical hazard information; a COA reports specified analytical information for the material or batch it identifies. One should not be used as a substitute for the other.
Begin with the question, not the filename
If a laboratory needs hazard identification, emergency information or handling-related precautions, the relevant starting point is the applicable SDS and its own safety procedures. If the question concerns a reported analytical test, the relevant starting point is the corresponding analysis document and its scope.
OSHA’s Hazard Communication materials describe the organized SDS section structure and required information. This is a United States workplace framework, not a statement that every jurisdiction has identical requirements or that every peptide listing has been classified in the same way.
Bachem separately describes its analytical data sheets and certificates as batch-related records. The distinction is useful when reviewing documentation generally, but Bachem’s description is not a certification of ChinaPeptideshop materials.
How a document mix-up happens
Consider a fictional purchasing conversation: a buyer asks for an analytical result, and receives a professionally formatted SDS. The document may be useful, but it does not answer the original question merely because it includes a product identifier and a supplier name. The next step is to ask for the relevant analytical record, not to assume the requested test passed.
The reverse mix-up is just as unhelpful. A report with a chromatogram should not replace a laboratory’s hazard review. A good-looking analytical file does not turn a research material into a medicine or remove the need for appropriate laboratory controls.
Three separate checks
- Identity: Do the product name and identifier describe the same material?
- Scope: Is this hazard information, a specification, or an actual analytical result?
- Traceability: When the document is batch-specific, does its batch match the supplied material?
Keep the original file and its revision or issue information. A renamed download with “COA” in the filename is not stronger evidence than the document’s actual contents. Conversely, a document should not be dismissed just because a supplier uses a different abbreviation: read what it covers.
What our document archive does and does not establish
ChinaPeptideshop publishes available supplier sample or batch documents. Their presence is not a blanket claim that every vial or specification has independent testing, and an analytical file should not be represented as an SDS.
When reviewing a listing such as GHK-Cu, request the documents relevant to the actual material and the question your laboratory needs answered. If a relevant document is not available, leave that requirement open and contact support rather than substituting another file.
的 COA batch checklist helps organize the analytical side of the record. Keeping the hazard review and analytical review distinct gives each document a clear job, making follow-up questions simpler and more precise.
